Ariana’s 6 Month Shoot

This week I had the privilage to take photos for my friend’s daughter, Ariana. She reached the important 6 month mark. Important for the parents for obvious reasons, and important to a photographer like me because it is the time when babies are able to sit up on their own!

The shoot was in the middle of the day which I hesiste to shoot in for two reasons:

  1. The sun is at it’s brightest and I hate the harsh shadows that it casts on the subject. Not only that, but people tend to squint and I am not able to get that much needed light shining on their eyes.
  2. My wife is at work during the day and I rely on her greatly for shoots that involve children.

But alas, you have to make things work for the client! I knew that natural shadows from objects around the area would be my best friends. I also made sure to take my reflector and that the translucent part would come in handy.

I am very pleased with the results! I am happy that I was able to get the right light in the middle of the day. This experience will open up new possibilities for me.

Here are some of my favorite pictures we took. Enjoy!
